Marin Artists Spring Open Studios & ICB Building Sausalito

Fine Art Event - San Francisco Bay Area - Northern California

The best kept secret in Sausalito California, are the Artist OpenSausalito ICBBuilding Studios, located in the ICB Building. It is the largest art source and art gallery in the City of Sausalito. The history of this facility, can be read further down within this introduction.

Today, this historical building, and commercial property is the home and open studios to 80 unique artists, of eclectic talents. Their "Open Studios" are available for visitation, by calling an artist in advance, to make an appointment, as their studios are their havens and sanctuaries of their creativity.

The ICB Building hosts two annual  events, in which the public is invited to visit the many artist open studios, to personally meet them, and to view their wonderful  works of art. These dates normally incur on:

 Marin Spring Artists Open Studios
May 5 - 6: Studios open 11-6 in Novato, San Rafael, San Anselmo, Fairfax, Woodacre and Forest Knolls

May 12 - 13: Studios open 11-6 in Ross, Kentfield, Greenbrae, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Tiburon, Belvedere, Mill Valley and Sausalito

The new format simply means that the dates associated with specific geographic locations is no longer. It means all participating artists/studios in all geographic locations, will now open their studios on "Two consecutive Weekends"

Winter Event: December "1st, 2nd - 2012

 The Schoonmaker Building is located near the The Bay Model Visitor Center this community of local artists is home base for a multitude of professional artists working in a wide variety of artistic genres and media; photography, portrait painting, landscape painting, video, watercolor, contemporary images, conceptual forms and more. It has fostered Sausalito's historic art scene for over twenty five years.

The San Anselmo Art Studios were established twenty-five year ago at the old Isabel Cook Elementary School. The building was constructed in 1927 as the Red Hill School, then re-named in 1949 for a beloved principal. The school closed in 1975.
A wide range of mediums- oil, watercolor, pastel, printmaking,  photography, mixed media and sculpture- are represented as well as a wide range of subject matter and styles.
